DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, BHILAI
Primary Wing Evaluation 2019-'
Primary Wing Evaluation 2019-'20 - Dear Parent/Guardian Education is the process of facilitating learning skills, values, beliefs and habits. We at D.P.S. Bhilai are committed to the same. Keeping in view the holistic development of the children, the school has been following CCE pattern of examination based on CBSE guidelines. However, to make the children future ready to face the competitive world, they need to be exposed to the system of examination as well. This will help them prepare to face the assessment system in the senior classes. In view of the above facts & to benefit the students at large, D.P.S. Bhilai, Primary Wing, will be switching over to Partial Examination System this Session (2019-2020) onwards. However, the grade description of the CCE System under the CBSE guidelines will be followed for preparing the results. Subjectwise written exams will be conducted within the same framework of the present CCE System. For the main subjects, namely-English, Hindi, Maths, General Science and Social Studies, written Exam will be conducted of 50 marks each and 50 marks will be allotted for weekly tests, projects, orals etc. (Total 100 marks for each subject). Attendance during the Written Exams will be mandatory for all students. The students who fall in D grade i.e. 35% and below will have to appear for their grade improvement exam after the Second Evaluation. Other details regarding the same will be duly notified. Warm regards, Parshant Vashishta Principal
Wearing of Leggings
Wearing of Leggings - Dear Parents/Guardians This is with regard to the wearing of leggings as a part of the uniform by girls. You all must remember the epidemic of Dengue that had swept the twin cities of Durg-Bhilai last year during the rainy season. At that time the DEO's Office had issued instructions to all schools making leggings, full pants and full sleeved shirts compulsory for students. When the DEO and other senior officials went around inspecting schools, the same instructions were repeated and it was insisted upon, that leggings be made compulsory. Thus leggings came into force and keeping the weather conditions in mind, leggings continued through the winter to offer protection from the cold. Even for the smaller boys (Nursery onwards), full pants were made a part of the uniform - a practice that came into force atleast four years earlier, to ensure that the little ones were protected against the vagaries of the weather. However, leggings could be avoided in the months of March and April due to the extreme temperature. The dengue menace has not completely disappeared from the Durg-Bhilai twin cities - the dengue larvae have survived the high temperatures of the summer season and people are falling prey to the disease with alarming rapidity. Newspaper reports dated 03 July 2019 stated 3 new cases of dengue admitted for treatment. Keeping this in mind the school authorities decided to make the wearing of leggings compulsory for girls. However, it is extremely disheartening to note that this decision is being misrepresented and misinterpreted by a few. Looking at the negative reactions, the school authorities have decided to make leggings optional and leave the decision to the parents/guardians. The school however, shall continue to work in the best interests of the stakeholders always! With regards Parshant Vashishta Principal
